Beautifully produced by Marc Clement and made at Birnam CD, Songs From A Jar is a debut CD by Hamish MacDonald featuring superb arrangements and accompaniment from Marc Clement as well as contributions from musicians of the calibre of Brian MacAlpine, Liza Mulholland and Derek Urquhart. The CD of 10 songs encompasses a range of themes from First Love to Fishin on the Fly, dances the Goldminer’s Waltz and meets the Existential Blues, tells the story of the Ghost Dancer and the fate of a political prisoner in Iran

The CD has evolved from writing a number of new songs while playing on the open mic and acoustic session scene around the north of Scotland and at local festivals such as Northern Roots and Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
